This last year has been especially hard on our senior citizens living in nursing homes and assisted living centers who haven’t been able to visit with their loved ones. The goal of this campaign is to let them know they are missed and loved by gifting each of them a “Balloon Buddy.”
Isabel from Balloons Filled with love, is bringing the nationwide Adopt A Grandparent campaign to our region. Their goal is to bring residents in local assisted living, rehab and nursing home facilities a little joy and encouragement after months of being separated from their loved ones. Isabel is looking to the community to sponsor Balloon Buddies for local seniors. Once all of the residents of the chosen facility have been adopted, they will deliver the Balloon Buddies to be distributed to each adopted grandparent by the facility staff. As an added bonus, Balloons Filled with Love will also be donating a larger decor piece to be displayed in each facility for the staff and residents to enjoy.
“The residents in these facilities have been isolated from their friends and family for nearly a year. They have not been able to participate in outings or have the visits and entertainment typically provided by the facilities. This thoughtful act of kindness from our generous community will brighten their day and lift their spirits”, said Isabel Delacruz, owner of Balloon Filled with love.
Isabel is starting with the facilities in their local town of Malden MA. Forestdale Park Senior Living Facility had a total of 60 residents to be adopted. Balloons Filled with love unfortunately did not receive any outside sponsorships to fully adopt all the residents at Forestdale Park. However, in order to accomplish their mission Balloons Filled with love fully sponsored and adopted all of the residents.
Deliveries like this have been happening all across the U.S. as balloon professionals around the country have joined the Adopt A Grandparent campaign to spread some cheer and lift the spirits of the elderly who have been affected the most by social distancing.
